The action "16 days of active counteraction to gender-based violence" has started in the capital today. The events are aimed at raising awareness of the population about measures to prevent and prevent violence, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
In Astana, over 10 months of this year, 102 received more than 8000 calls from citizens on the facts of domestic violence in families. This was announced at a briefing in the capital's RSC dedicated to the International Day against Violence against Women – November 25, by the head of the Department for the Protection of Women from Violence of the Astana Police Department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Gulmira Shrakhmetova.
According to the speaker, in 10 months, more than 7,600 protective orders were issued on the fact of violence to prevent offenses, 647 special requirements for the behavior of the offender were established. In order to strengthen prevention, work with the registered contingent has been intensified.
Mobile groups are working to identify families who have been subjected to violence, as well as those who find themselves in a difficult life situation. For example, more than 2,000 rounds were conducted in total. Of these, 64 families were identified who are in a difficult life situation, 75 parents who are not responsible for raising children were registered. According to Article 127 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 121 people were brought to administrative responsibility.
Recall that the annual international campaign "16 days of active action against gender-based violence" traditionally begins on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and ends on December 10, the International Human Rights Day.
