During a meeting with residents of Almaly district, Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev spoke about plans for the development of transport infrastructure and the BRT project on Rayymbek Avenue in particular.
"Next year we plan to completely transform Rayymbek Avenue. As part of the construction of the BRT, in addition to a dedicated lane for public transport, the entire street will be landscaped, that is, we will go along the entire width - from facade to facade. Yes, there will be certain inconveniences for drivers during the repair period, but the work will be organized quarterly with minimal overlap," Yerbolat Dosayev stressed.
The mayor of the megalopolis noted that thanks to the "working" allocation and long buses, the connectivity of the eastern and western parts of the city will increase.
Recall that the project provides for the organization of dedicated lanes with a minimum number of interruptions, new bus shelters, as well as comprehensive landscaping along the avenue. Stops are planned to be equipped on platforms and located closer to intersections. At the same time, the main number of lanes for vehicles will remain. The project is divided into several stages: from Pushkin Street to Seifullin Avenue, from Seifullin Avenue to Akhremenko Street and further to the Barlyk market.
