In Astana, the Department of the Center for active longevity in Almaty district held a competition on the Kazakh National tug of war, the official website of the capital's mayor's office reports.
9 teams took part in the tug of war, 36 active pensioners took part. The purpose of the competition is to develop the strength of the elderly, form a unity of movement through the game, and strengthen friendly relations between the social group.
The teams "Zhuldyz", "victory" and "forward", consisting of pensioners, won. All winners were awarded with special prizes, cups, medals and diplomas.
The tug of war was organized jointly with the Directorate of mass sports events of Astana akimat.
"In general, our center has intellectual clubs to promote forgotten traditions and customs. Recently, we held an open lesson on the ritual" Enshi Bulat", a togyzkumalak tournament.
