The country is actively implementing a program for the selection and training of leaders of the new format "1000 leaders of changes in education", initiated by the Head of State. This year, the number of people willing to participate has increased 2.5 times, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The selection process takes place in five stages. At the first stage, candidates are tested to assess professional and managerial competencies, at the second they are admitted to study, at the third they undergo an internship at leading schools in the country, at the fourth they participate in the final assessment, and at the fifth they are interviewed by the Ministry commission. According to the results of all stages, the republican personnel reserve of heads of educational organizations is being formed.

This year, 13,796 applicants registered at the initial stage, which is 2.5 times more than last year. According to the results of all five stages, 375 candidates for the positions of heads of kindergartens, schools and colleges were recommended to the Republican Personnel Reserve.

"Applicants who have completed all stages of the program receive a certificate, on the basis of which they are enrolled in the personnel reserve for further employment. After that, reservists can be appointed to the vacant position of the first head without having to go through competitive procedures. They are assigned the qualification category "head-leader", — said Kanybek Zhumashev, Chairman of the Secondary Education Committee.

Last year, the Republican Personnel Reserve included 208 candidates, of whom 170 have already occupied the positions of school principals.
