With the onset of the heating season, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan continue to actively take care of the safety of citizens. Raids are being carried out in several regions of the country to check the condition of heating systems in residential buildings and public institutions.
Specialists of the Emergency Department of Kostanay region, together with local executive bodies, the police service and volunteers, organized a tour of the houses of socially vulnerable segments of the population. Since the beginning of the heating period, more than 38 thousand houses have already been inspected, and more than 79 thousand people have been instructed in fire safety rules. Special attention is paid to the elderly, large families and citizens with disabilities who are in particular need of support.
"The main attention is paid to the serviceability of heating equipment, the availability of ventilation, compliance with fire safety rules and the prevention of cases of carbon monoxide. As part of the bypass, 767 carbon monoxide sensors were installed, 540 chimneys were cleaned, 45 furnaces were repaired, electrical outlets and electric switches were repaired in 49 houses," said Deputy Head of the Emergency Department Omirzhan Tukushev.
Rescuers of the emergency situations of Atyrau region carried out large-scale preventive work. In addition, employees of UGPC and UCHS Atyrau install sensors for families from socially vulnerable segments of the population.
Specialists conduct explanatory conversations with residents, hand out memos with recommendations for the safe operation of heating appliances, and remind them of the mandatory inspection of chimneys. During the raid, possible violations that can lead to emergencies are also identified and eliminated.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns:
- Do not leave electric and gas appliances on;
- do not use temporary or damaged electrical wiring;
- do not connect a large number of electrical appliances at the same time;
- Keep matches out of the reach of children;
- use hand-made electric heaters to heat the room;
- Do not let children play with fire and do not leave them unattended;
- in case of fire and ignition, immediately call the numbers "101", "112".
Compliance with fire safety rules will protect your home and property from fire.
