1,000 tons of bananas per year are grown in the Turkestan region

A unique greenhouse complex for banana cultivation has been operating in the Turkestan region since 2023. The project was implemented by GenGroupKazakhstan, which is engaged in the creation of modern greenhouses and grows a variety of agricultural and tropical crops.
Investors have studied the experience of developing agriculture in Turkey. Special attention was paid to the issues of resistance to climatic conditions. After a thorough analysis of weather conditions and soil characteristics, it was decided to grow bananas in the Sairam district of Turkestan region.
The first greenhouse on an area of 5 hectares was put into operation in June 2023. At the end of May 2024, the first products were assembled.
Currently, GenGroupKazakhstan is planning to build a new greenhouse complex where tomatoes and strawberries will be grown. The capacity of the new greenhouse with an area of 6 hectares is 3 thousand tons of tomatoes, 130 tons of strawberries. The total cost of the project is estimated at 13.4 billion tenge, and the implementation of the projects will be completed by the end of 2025.
Also, a project is currently being developed to grow mangoes, avocados and blueberries on 10 hectares of open ground.
