Today, there are 772 technical and vocational education organizations in the country, where 565,000 students study, of which 177,000 enrolled this year.
91 thousand students are enrolled in dual education. By the end of 2024, the volume of state educational orders in the country's colleges increased by 143 thousand places, which is 10 thousand more than last year. The coverage of students with free technical and vocational education in sought-after specialties was 90%. On behalf of the Head of State, 65% of the state order is aimed at technical specialties, including mechanical engineering, transport, energy, IT, construction and engineering. The employment rate of college graduates in Kazakhstan is 79%. Staff training at colleges is carried out taking into account the regional economy. As of today, work has begun on the profiling and consolidation of 195 colleges. In addition, 160 startup projects have been launched, and the material and technical base of 104 colleges has been updated. Taking into account the requirements of professional standards, state educational standards and WorldSkills standards, about 8 thousand educational programs have been developed. In order to spread effective advanced teaching methods and approaches, college locomotives have been identified, and 3 IT centers have been established on the basis of modern colleges.
In order to support college students, scholarship payments have been doubled: 50% in 2023 and 50% in 2024, covering more than 300,000 students. More than 87% of the students in need are provided with places in dormitories. This year, 4 dormitories with 1.2 thousand beds have been commissioned.
