The Ministry of Education continues to actively work to create an inclusive educational environment and ensure equal opportunities for all children, including children with special educational needs. One of the key steps in this direction is the training of teaching assistants.
To date, 203 thousand children with special educational needs are registered at the psychological, medical and pedagogical consultation (PMPC). They study in 496 specialized educational institutions. A significant step forward has been made to create inclusive conditions in organizations: conditions for children with special educational needs have been created in 69% of kindergartens, 88% of schools and 80% of colleges. There are 1071 specially equipped classrooms in schools.
"In the country's schools, the position of "teacher-assistant" was introduced, which allowed to increase the number of specialists from 1 to 2.5 thousand per year. Now the opening of this position is also being considered in preschool organizations. In total, more than 9 thousand special teachers work with children with special educational needs. To cover the growing need for these specialists, the training of "teaching assistants" will begin in the country's colleges from the next academic year," said Laura Butabayeva, Director of the Department of Inclusive and Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Ministry of Education will continue to work to improve educational conditions for children with special needs and provide qualified personnel.
