On behalf of the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, work continues in Almaty to provide citizens with high-quality outdoor lighting. One of its directions is the elimination of areas where historically there were no street lights. For 10 months of this year, the teams of the Almaty Kala Zharyk State Enterprise illuminated 95 courtyards, streets and alleys, installing more than 500 supports and brackets and the same number of lamps there. The length of the previously unlit sections was 20 kilometers.
"We have never had lighting in the Kemel microdistrict along Kazanat Street in the Kapshagai highway area. There are a lot of people living here, before everyone got home in the dark. It was especially difficult for schoolchildren and pensioners. After contacting Almaty Kala Zharyk, new lampposts were installed, lighting was connected, it became much more comfortable, for which I am very grateful. Now we live like people," says Bakhyt Arystanova, Chairman of the Kazanat AXIS
"Our Mukaeva Street in the Akbulak microdistrict is a dead end, and for some reason there was no street lighting at the very end of it. And a large family lives here, and it was very scary for the students to return from classes in the dark. Lighting was installed very quickly, literally the next day after contacting Almaty Kala Zharyk, a team arrived, dug holes and installed poles. A day later, the lanterns were hung up and connected, and now we have a bright and bright street, it's a real holiday for the residents. A huge human thank you to everyone," says Lunara Sembayeva, a resident of the Alatau district.
According to Almaty Kala Zharyk, by the end of the year, 25 more previously unlit streets and alleys will be illuminated in the city. The installation of new light points is carried out at the request of district akimats, which form lists of problem areas. According to them, a work plan and a connection schedule are drawn up. Information is currently being prepared on the elimination of unlit areas for 2025.
In general, in just 10 months of this year, more than 27 thousand lamps were installed and replaced in Almaty, about 300 km of cable was stretched, and more than two thousand new lighting poles were installed. 24.5 thousand applications from citizens have been processed, which is 93% of all received. More than 5.5 thousand short circuits and about 4 thousand line breaks have been eliminated. 45 km of lighting on main streets have been repaired.
