During the winter season, residents and guests of Astana can expect a lot of entertainment: ice rinks, slides, cozy cafes, photo zones and more. It is planned that about 60 such places will appear in 6 districts of the city and will work throughout the winter season, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
Christmas trees will be installed in the districts, which are on the balance sheet of the akimat. A part of last year's garlands, installations and other decorations will be used for the New Year's decoration of the streets. A number of public spaces for winter leisure will be decorated with thematic small architectural forms and light installations.
In the Nura area, winter entertainment for the whole family is organized in the Central Park, near the Green Quarter residential complex, Urker residential area, Asia Park shopping center and on the territory of the Astana Arena stadium. Taking into account the design of points of attraction and streets, a total of more than 40 small architectural forms with night lighting will be installed on the territory of the district. There will also be 4 ice rinks.
In the districts of Almaty and Saraishyk this year, the main points of attraction for citizens will be: Kazak Eli Square, the territory of the Palace of Schoolchildren, the Presidential Park, the Triathlon Park and the Sana Sports Complex, including in public spaces of residential areas, ice slides and ice rinks will be arranged.
It is planned to create a festive atmosphere in the Baikonur area with various New Year installations and recreation areas. The main entertainment facilities will be located in the following locations: on the territory of the Zhastar Palace, in the park named after him. Ataturk, on the Alley of Writers, etc. It is planned to place light garlands along the streets and on the bridge over the Akbulak River, which will create New Year's illumination.
In the Yesil area, the main locations will be decorated with festive illumination and decorations. Live trees along Kunaev and Dostyk streets, along the perimeter of Bayterek, as well as on Mangilik El Avenue, in the Botanical Garden and Ulytau Square will be decorated with light garlands and other festive elements. Small architectural forms in the New Year theme will be installed at the main points of attraction of citizens such as Baiterek, Nurzhol Boulevard, Linear Park, Astana Ballet and at the intersection of Mangilik El Avenue with Uly Dala Street. Festive Christmas trees, etc. will appear on the main squares and parks, including the Expo, the Botanical Garden and the Prigorodny residential area.
In the Saryarka area, slides, an ice rink, themed MAFAS and a Christmas tree will appear on the embankment of the Yesil River by the New Year, and a large slide, an ice rink with an area of 600 sq.m. and New Year's photo zones will decorate a live Christmas tree 13 m. An 18-meter Christmas tree, an ice rink and MATs will be installed in the Koktal Park. Various mafas, slides and New Year's installations will also appear near the squares, the train station and on the main streets to create a festive atmosphere throughout the area.
The district akimats will allocate about 696.7 million tenge for winter clearance work, of which:
- Nura district 79 million tenge;
- Saryarka district 110 million tenge;
- Almaty and Saraishyk districts 165 million tenge;
- Baikonur district 158.8 million tenge;
- Yesil district 183.9 million tenge;

Installation work on the arrangement of ice rinks, slides, mafas, photo zones and other elements began in mid–November. These works will be completed in stages, in the second decade of December.
