Innovative technologies and energy security: Kazakhstan shares its experience at a conference in Qingdao

On October 23-24, 2024 in Qingdao (China), Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Arymbek took part in the third Ministerial Energy Conference "One Belt, One Road".

Within the framework of the conference, K. Arymbek made presentations in the framework of the panel sessions "Using the effectiveness of innovative technologies to improve energy security" and "Transformation and security: accelerating the development of new energy systems".

In his speeches, the Vice Minister noted the ongoing work on the development of the renewable energy sector, including the potential of wind energy, solar electricity and the hydro potential of the country. He also reported on investment cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, electric power industry.

Also on the sidelines of the conference, a meeting was held with Deputy State Administration of Energy of the People's Republic of China Ren Jindong. During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on current cooperation. Following the meeting, a Protocol was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Administration of Energy of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the implementation of renewable energy projects.

Meetings were also held with major Chinese energy companies - CNPC, Power China, China Energy, etc. As part of the technical tours, the production of the gas turbine plant of the Chinese company Huadian Qingdao, as well as the SCO Technology Transfer Center, were visited.
