On October 12, 2024, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan hosted a working meeting of the heads of the water and energy departments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev, Minister of Water Management and Irrigation of Kazakhstan Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, as well as representatives of the Settlement and Financial Center for Renewable Energy Support, KEGOC, Samruk-Energo companies took part from the Republic of Kazakhstan.
First Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Kamol Abbasov was also present at the meeting as an invited guest.
The main focus of the meeting was on ensuring the smooth functioning of water and energy systems in the autumn-winter period. The participants agreed on the schedules of the networks and discussed further measures to maintain the stability of the system.
In addition, key joint projects were discussed, including the current state of construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, as well as issues of coordinating the water and energy balance
Following the meeting, the parties signed a corresponding protocol.
