At a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev focused on the measures taken to improve the quality of education in rural schools. So, today the republican project "Auyl mektebi – sapa Alany" is being implemented in the country, which includes subprojects implemented in the regions.
So, last year in Aktobe region, with the support of the Ministry of Education, the public foundation "Kazakhstan Khalkyna" and the Foundation for Sustainable Development of Education, a project was successfully implemented to increase the potential of rural schools using digital technologies. It covered 12 basic and 134 small schools with the participation of more than 11 thousand students and about 3.5 thousand teachers.
The project participants took special courses on improving digital competence and professional development. Taking into account the technical capabilities of small schools, four learning models have been developed.
"As a result of the project, the material and technical base of the supporting schools has been completely updated, and small schools have received modern subject and digital classrooms. All schools are provided with high-speed Internet. As a result of the project, the issues of access to high—quality Internet were resolved," Gani Beisembayev said.
Also, last academic year, a project was implemented in 50 schools of the Almaty region to improve the quality of education in natural and mathematical subjects, and this academic year the Otp project was launched in the Mangystau region. It covers 35 rural schools, 60 thousand students and 7 thousand teachers.
Recall that today there are 8 thousand schools in Kazakhstan, of which 67% are located in rural areas, and 51% are poorly equipped. The largest number of small schools are located in North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Akmola, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan and Aktobe regions.
