The Astana City Police Department is carrying out a set of measures to ensure law and order and the safety of residents and guests of the city. This was announced at a briefing in the communications service by Kanat Nysantayev, Deputy head of the Local Police Department of the Astana City Police Department, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
In preparation for the holidays, the staff of the city police department was transferred to an enhanced duty mode. Special attention was paid to the combat readiness of employees and additional checks for rapid response in emergency situations.
"On New Year's Eve, about three thousand police officers were involved to ensure public order, who worked around the clock. 660 patrol police officers monitored road safety. Additionally, Operational Management was strengthened, where explanations were received on citizens' messages received through the 102 number. The criminal situation was monitored around the clock using a video surveillance system, which made it possible to monitor the situation in real time. Additional investigative and operational groups were sent to quickly solve the crimes," he said.
At the briefing, Kanat Nysantayev said that special attention was paid to places of mass events. Additional police posts were operating near New Year's playgrounds, as well as in places where Christmas trees were installed.
