The Zhas Enbekshiler project was launched in Astana to increase the prestige of working professions in the capital's colleges, the official website of the akimat of the city reports.
According to Mayra Sembina, Deputy director of the Higher College of Astana Polytechnic, more than 40 events are planned at the educational institution, which cover six priority areas for the implementation of the program of the Year of Working Professions of the capital.
Among them, the most significant is the international Polytech Generation 2025 festival, which will be held in May this year.
"This will be the first international festival dedicated to popularizing working professions and creating a positive image of technical specialties. We expect the participation of polytechnic colleges not only from Kazakhstan, but also from the world's leading secondary specialized educational institutions," said Mayra Sembina.
College students have been active since the beginning of the year, participating in the development of promising projects.
The winners of the republican Olympiads and participants of the hackathon in Pavlodar, Sayat Zhunusov, Asanali Babayev and Adil Altynbek presented a project to identify fraudulent activities using generative neural networks.
"If a transaction takes place in one city, and a few minutes later in another, located far away, then this is regarded as an anomaly. Accordingly, an anomaly is a sign of fraudulent actions," said Sayat.
In the future, the guys plan to actively develop their project in order to raise awareness of Kazakhstanis about the risks of online fraud and reduce the number of such threats."
Astana Polytechnic students positively welcomed the initiative of the Year of Working Professions.
"We were glad when we learned that 2025 will be the Year of the Working Professions. I am also pleased that the work of the workers will be appreciated at a high level. This will not only raise the prestige of working professions, but also show their importance for the country's economy. We are proud that the students of our college will play an important role in the development of technical specialties," said Adil.
