The report of the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Serik Zharasbayev, began.
“Today, there are 521 youth sports schools across the republic, with 406,227 athletes participating in them. Of these, 15,468 coaches train athletes, 74% (11,371 people) in Olympic sports, 15% (2,302 people) in non-Olympic sports, and 11% (1,741 people) in national sports.
The youth sports school is engaged in 114 sports, including 302,204 in Olympic sports, 31,043 in non-Olympic sports, 44,695 in national sports, and 27,581 in sports included in the Asian Games program."
"According to the results of last year, the highest indicators belong to the Turkestan region (47,266 children), the Karaganda region (27,762 children), and the Zhambyl region (26,241 children). The lowest figure was registered in Astana city – (8,769 children), Ulytau region – (10,288 children) and Abay region – 12,406 children”.
“By the end of 2024, more than 660 thousand people in our country, or 9.6% of the total number of those involved in physical education and sports, will be systematically engaged in national sports. Today, 15 children's and youth sports schools, 17 sports clubs, and 1 sports development directorate operate in the republic for national sports.
“Zhappai kokpar” has been recognized and included in the register of sports. Republican and 5 regional federations in Shymkent, Almaty, Zhetysu, Kyzylorda, Turkestan regions have been accredited. This work needs to be continued and completed in other regions”.
“Much attention is paid to the development of sports among people with disabilities. The number of people with disabilities who are systematically engaged in sports is increasing. According to the results of 2024, 61,034 people or 18.5% of them are 23,080 people or children under 18 years of age. Compared to 2023, this figure has increased by 4,212 people.
Today, 16 sports clubs, 1 sports development department in Almaty region and 2 sports schools for people with disabilities operate in the republic, and the "Sports Training Center" for people with disabilities operates at the republican level.
"The next important direction is the medical and biological support of athletes on the field. In accordance with the approved sectoral Concept, it is planned to open medical physical education dispensaries in 9 regions of the country, including Ulytau, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Mangistau, North Kazakhstan regions. I ask the leaders of these regions to carry out appropriate work in this direction."
"Today, the national teams for summer and winter Olympic and national sports include 10,056 athletes, which is 928 people or 8% more than last year. The city of Almaty should be noted in the forefront. The national teams include 1,456 athletes from the metropolis, which is 13%, an increase of 95 people compared to last year. The next region is the city of Shymkent, with 834 athletes or 8%, an increase of 74 people.
At the same time, the results of some regions show a negative dynamics of the transfer of athletes to national teams. Among them is the city of Astana, which decreased by 26 people, and the decrease was recorded in the North Kazakhstan region by 17 athletes," said Serik Zharasbayev.
