The national tool for monitoring and assessing the educational achievements of students has received the RCEC international quality mark, the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.
The international accreditation of the national tool of the RCEC confirms its reliability, validity and compliance with international quality standards. All stages and procedures of the RCEC are based on scientific methods used in well-known studies such as PISA, TIMSS and PIRLS.
“Accreditation of the RCEC has allowed us to increase our country's capacity and expertise in the field of assessment. We plan to introduce the main principles and methods developed during the transformation of the RCEC to other levels of education as part of improving the national education system. This will ensure the overall development of the assessment system and obtaining objective data on the quality of children's education,” said Magzhan Amangazy, Chairman of the Board of the Akhmet Baitursynuly Taldau National Research and Education Assessment Center.
In addition, accreditation provides Kazakhstan with unique opportunities to lead joint initiatives to assess the quality of education in the Central Asian region.
The accreditation of the BMQA consists of 7 stages, which include the development of an assessment system, the creation of a database of test questions, the development of instructions for all participants, the administration of testing on a digital platform, and the analysis of results in accordance with international standards.
Recall that the BMQA is a Kazakhstani national study that studies the quality of education of schoolchildren, which allows identifying strengths and weaknesses in the educational process. Its final result is the development of methodological recommendations for improving the quality of education, conducting a comprehensive analysis of each region.
