Snow removal work is carried out non-stop in Astana. The city's utilities are working in an enhanced mode around the clock, the official website of the Astana akimat reports.
On the morning of February 19, 2,557 road workers and 1,282 units of special equipment were deployed for snow removal.
On the night of February 19, 24,858 cubic meters of snow were removed from the capital to snow dumps in 1,929 flights.
Since the beginning of the winter season, 6,025,262 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city in 487,388 heavy truck flights.
First of all, in accordance with the rules, places with very high traffic are cleared to avoid traffic jams on the roads. Also, areas with medium traffic - squares, areas near train stations, sidewalks, entrances to social facilities, etc. will be cleaned.
Cleaning of central streets, places where passenger transport routes pass, stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow polygons in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading license plates of dump trucks, video surveillance cameras are installed here, and lighting is turned on.
We ask residents and guests of the capital to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules, and not go on long trips if there is a storm warning.
