Today, February 23, the head of the region Nurdaulet Kilybay visited the Mangystau regional sports club for the disabled and got acquainted with its work.

The mentioned sports club has been operating since 2005. Currently, 482 disabled people regularly train here. Among them are athletes with visual and hearing impairments, people with musculoskeletal injuries, special children, and athletes in the rehabilitation group.

Currently, the club has two special vehicles for transporting disabled athletes. Convenient conditions have been created here for paraathletes and opportunities for the development of 15 different sports are provided. In particular, training is conducted in such sports as sitting volleyball, athletics, table tennis, powerlifting, togyzkumalak, chess, checkers, badminton, mini-football, boccia, swimming, goalball, arm wrestling, judo, and Greco-Roman wrestling.

In addition, the club's athletes have achieved high results at the world and republican levels. Today, there are 2 Honored Coaches of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 15 Masters of Sports of international level, 43 Masters of Sports and 53 Candidates for Masters of Sports here.

Regional Akim Nurdaulet Kilybay assigned a number of tasks to the head of the department responsible for creating favorable conditions for disabled people to engage in sports.

- One club is not enough for the club for disabled people, so prepare documents for the construction of another hangar. Currently, disabled people are forced to train in different sports in different places. It is necessary to unite them and create a single sports center with all the necessary conditions. It is also necessary to attract foreign specialists, hone the skills of athletes, and improve the quality of training, - said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
