During a meeting with residents of the Medeu district, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev explained the mechanism for purchasing land for state needs.
“It is said that the amount of compensation provided for the purchase of land is not enough to satisfy all the needs of the population. There are specific mechanisms for assessment established by law, but if the court awards more compensation in accordance with the law, the city will pay it. We will find the necessary funds, save. Most importantly, the city needs to develop. As the mayor of the city, I do not have enough state land funds for the development of the city,” Yerbolat Dossayev said at a meeting with residents of the Medeu district.
The mayor noted that since his appointment in 2022, the akimat has been purchasing land only for the purpose of building roads, developing social infrastructure and public spaces, and all this is being carried out within the framework of the law.
“We cannot privatize a single acre of land purchased with budget funds in accordance with the Land Code. "I want to clarify this issue right away, there should be no idea that the akimat can buy land and give it to someone else. This is strictly prohibited by the Land Code, we have no right to take such action," the city akim said.
