Almaty Akim Yerbolat Dossayev spoke at a meeting with residents of the Medeu district about solving infrastructure problems, providing remote microdistricts with water supply and sewage systems.
"Many of the issues raised earlier have been resolved today. Everyone has forgotten how much fuss there was on the Kamensk plateau last year. Now 50 thousand residents of the district are provided with stable water supply, this issue will not be raised again. This is a great achievement for me. This year we will carry out work in the western part of the district, and next year we will begin construction of the eastern part, including drainage systems and networks. Because residents use septic tanks, there is a risk of landslides. This issue is very important for me," said the mayor.
As a reminder, remote microdistricts that previously did not have water and sewage systems were included in the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the Medeu district. Thus, in March this year, the construction of 50 km of distribution networks will begin in the western part of the Kamensk plateau microdistrict to provide 7 thousand residents with water and sewage systems. The work will be completed in September 2026.
Also, this year, another 100 km of water pipelines and sewerage networks will be built in the Muztau, Sulusai, Atyrau, Alatau, Kishi Stanitsa and Tauly Kyrat microdistricts.
One of the important projects was the commissioning of the reserve water supply system in July 2024. Today, this system supplies 32 thousand cubic meters of water per day from Talgar groundwater sources, providing 50 thousand residents of the Samal, Koktobe and Tauly Kyrat microdistricts with stable water.
