      The legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for criminal liability for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, along with administrative liability.
For driving a vehicle while intoxicated, an administrative penalty is provided in the form of arrest for 20 days and deprivation of a driver's license for 7 years.
For driving a vehicle by a person deprived of the right to drive vehicles and in a state of alcoholic, narcotic and (or) toxic intoxication, as well as transferring control of a vehicle to such a person or allowing such a person to drive a vehicle, criminal liability is provided with deprivation of a driver's license for life and freedom for up to 10 years.
