On March 20, 2025, Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov held a working meeting with the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty Jiang Wei. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further expansion of interregional cooperation, as well as upcoming events in the southern capital. At the end of the conversation, the diplomats agreed to actively support cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.
