The first multifunctional community center in Kazakhstan, a large-scale public cultural and sports complex built according to international standards, has opened in the city of Kosshy, Akmola region.

The project was implemented by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation and has become a significant contribution to the development of urban infrastructure. The total area of the center is 8,5 thousand square meters, at the same time it can accommodate up to 1000 people. The $20 million project was donated to the city's balance sheet.

The head of the region expressed gratitude to the Foundation and stressed the importance of the new cultural and leisure center for the development of the city of Kossy.

"Despite the fact that only four years have passed since the city status was awarded, active construction and modernization of social facilities continues in Kossy. Today we witnessed the opening of the country's first multifunctional complex conforming to international standards, implemented on behalf of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation.

All modern conditions have been created here for the population, both for children and adults," said Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov.

The center combines sports, educational and leisure spaces. There is a cinema hall with 233 seats, a lecture hall for 300 people, exhibition and conference rooms, studios, a coworking space and a library with a reading room. The territory is equipped with sports grounds, workout areas and a walking alley. There is a wide range of clubs for children, from robotics and chess to choreography and applied crafts. For adults, it is a convenient space for work, socializing and leisure. Admission is free, and classes and sections are available at affordable prices.

"For many years, we have been helping the state to create a comfortable and modern infrastructure accessible to every citizen of Kazakhstan. In this project, we have taken into account the best international practices so that every guest of the center can realize their potential, improving the quality of life in Kossy," commented Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Almaz Foundation.

The opening of the center was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, Akim of the region Marat Akhmetzhanov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information Yevgeny Kochetov and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Almaz Sharman Foundation.

The Community Center is a modern international format that provides an accessible and open space for communication, learning and active leisure. Such centers contribute to the development of local communities and social integration.

The center became the second social facility donated by the Foundation to the city of Kossy. In September 2023, a modern comprehensive school for 1.5 thousand places was transferred to the city.

By the way, a modern multidisciplinary hospital is being built in Kossy at the expense of sponsorship funds.
