Athens, March 20, 2025 – A working meeting was recently held in Greece between the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic, Timur Sultangozhin, and the General Director of “TEKAL S.A.”, Antonios Panas, together with other members of the company’s management team. “TEKAL S.A.” is a prominent Greek company specializing in the design, construction, and modernization of port and transport-logistics facilities.

The company is currently executing several large-scale projects, including the reconstruction of the Astir Vouliagmeni tourist port at a cost of 50.8 million euros, the expansion of the western Pier III at the Port of Piraeus, the development of the pier at the Port of Artissa in Fthiotida, and the construction of a 500-meter platform at the Port of Limassol. Its expertise covers both new construction and the modernization of port infrastructure, thereby enhancing transport and logistics capabilities.

During the discussions, Ambassador Sultangozhin outlined Kazakhstan’s plans for developing its transport and logistics infrastructure—particularly with regard to expanding the capacity and capabilities of the Aktau and Kuryk ports—and highlighted potential areas of collaboration to enhance Kazakhstan’s transit potential. Special attention was paid to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and to attracting investments for the construction and upgrading of port infrastructure and transport-logistics facilities in Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Sultangozhin underscored the strategic importance of the Asia–Europe transport corridor for Kazakhstan, stressing the value of drawing on leading international expertise and investment to strengthen the nation’s logistics infrastructure.

Mr. Panas expressed “TEKAL S.A.”’s interest in undertaking projects in Kazakhstan and shared the company’s experience executing large-scale infrastructure initiatives in Greece and Southeastern Europe.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue exploring opportunities for implementing joint projects in the near future.
