Kazakh Delegates Attend Meetings of Working Bodies of OECD

Paris, March 20, 2025 – On March 17–20, 2025, representatives of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and its Institute of Economic Research (“ERI” JSC) participated in meetings of the Inclusive Platform for Due Diligence Policy Cooperation and the Working Groups on Responsible Business Conduct and, on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices.
In particular, within the framework of the responsible business conduct discussions, Alibek Raipov, Director of ERI World Economy Research Center, reported back on the implementation of the recommendations of the OECD expert assessment of the National Contact Point of Kazakhstan (NCP), and also responded questions from the participants. In general, the work of the Kazakh NCP was assessed quite positively, however, it was recommended to continue work on further improving its activities in accordance with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct.
Representatives of the Ministry of National Economy also participated in the discussion of topical issues of corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, such as managing risks and opportunities of state ownership, best practices in the field of ownership policy, political goals of state-owned enterprises and others.
In general, the events allowed Kazakh experts to gain valuable experience in participating in professional discussions with colleagues from OECD member states and partner countries, and exchange views on developing measures for responsible business conduct, ensuring proper operation of the Kazakh NCP, managing state property and improving the competitive environment.
