The commission of the executive committee checked the progress of the construction works on the reconstruction of the historic center of the city. During the working tour Almaty’s governor made serious remarks to the contractors responsible for the work on the improvement of the streets.

"It is necessary to ensure safe movement for pedestrians and vehicles. You all participated in an open competition for the production of works, you are all experienced companies, you have been working for a number of years, you should be responsible for quality and provide the necessary conditions for the citizens," Almaty city’s governor Bauyrzhan Baibek said.

According to the head of the company "Basis-A" Pavel Belovich, the penalties for dishonest work are already being accepted. For example, Salem Tokmurzayev, managing director of JSC "BASIS-A", was dismissed from his post for non-compliance with the rules of construction work and safety violations, as well as for inadequate organization of work, managing director Utegen Buzgulov was downgraded, the vice-president Marat Kopeshev was severely warned , who were responsible for repairs on the prospectus of Nazarbayev.

In addition, an administrative fine for 20 MCIs, 48,100 tenge each, was imposed on subcontractors who carried out repairs on this site of Kerim Zhol LLP and MV Alonz LL for storing inert materials and construction in an unauthorized place.

As the deputy of the governor S.Makejanov reported, during the inspection of construction and installation works on Ablai khan Ave from Abay Ave to the Railway Station of Almaty-2 a number of violations were revealed. The general contractor of "New Generation" LLP carries out the reconstruction without the appropriate notification of the start of production. In addition, in this area, work is carried out with a gross violation of technology and production standards: construction waste is not exported, construction materials are being stored with a violation of the organization of construction, electrical cable laying technology is not followed, backfilling is carried out with construction debris, and there is no internal operational control. In this regard, administrative protocols were drawn up for general contractors for a total of KZT1,142,375. In respect of subcontractors, LLP "Elitstroy" in the amount of 1 142 375 tenge, "Darbol" LLP - 577 200 KZT.

In addition, for damage to green spaces along Abylai Khan Avenue to the head of the section of Novaya Generatsiya LLP, a fine of 30 MCIs was imposed - 72,150 tenge. For damage to the root system of green spaces and storage of inert materials and construction debris, the subcontract organization LLP "Story Garant Invest" will pay an administrative fine of 40 MCI - 96,200 tenge. Also, for the damage of green plantations on Abay avenue for subcontract organization LLP "UMP-3" an administrative protocol was compiled for 40 MCI - 96 200 KZT.

During the visiting session the governor of Almaty once again focused on the need to conduct high-quality works in the optimal terms with the creation of minimal inconveniences for the citizens. The Office of State Architectural and Construction Control is entrusted to carry out more thorough work at each site and to demand compliance with the standards from contractors. All contractors are given specific deadlines for eliminating comments.

Let's remind that this summer more than 150 streets with a length of about 160 km are being repaired in Almaty. Major overhaul covers all underground passages. According to the principle of polycentricity, landscaping is being carried out in all districts of the city. If 500 Almaty courts were repaired last year, this year they will update more than 600 yards in all districts of the city.

Over the last year almost 800 km of engineering networks have been built and reconstructed in the metropolis, including 313 km of water supply, 266 km of sewerage, 150 km of the power supply network and 32.3 km of the heat supply network.
