The Akim of the Kostanay region Archimed Mukhambetov spoke at the final concert in honor of the City Day, congratulating the residents on occasion of the 139th anniversary of the regional center.

Improvement in the economic indicators of the region was for sure the best gift to the residents. People look confidently into the future. In recent years, the city itself has significantly renewed, while being able to maintain its historical identity and architecture. “There is a positive trend in most sectors of the economy. One of the priority areas is attracting investment in the economy. Under the state program “Business roadmap - 2020”, currently 10 major investment projects in the field of machine building, food industry, grain processing for a total of about KZT 40 billion are being implemented with the creation of over 500 new permanent jobs”, the head of the region said. He also noted that in order to improve the housing conditions of the Kostanay residents, housing construction is actively carried out in the region. “Today, new micro-districts such as “Airport”, “Yubileyny” and “Altyn Arman” are being built up at an accelerated pace. Undoubtedly, the new housing program “7-20-25” will give a big impetus to the further construction. In the current year, 7 residential houses have been already put into operation, 14 more will be commissioned by the end of the year”, the Akim added.

In addition, social and sports facilities are also actively built up in the city. So, this year a new sports and entertainment complex with a capacity of 1,000 people was put into operation, a national cultural center for 1,000 seats is being built within PPP. Construction of a covered sports arena for 3,000 seats is underway, which will be put into operation this year. It is planned to begin construction of a new Ice Palace for 2,000 seats. “Everything that is done in the city is done for the benefit of the residents. This is the result of joint work of all the Kostanay citizens. I want to express some words of gratitude to the representatives of the older generation, honorary citizens of the city and the region, who made a significant contribution to the development of the regional center. Dear Kostanay citizens, I congratulate you with the 139th anniversary of our regional center.

I wish you and your families health, happiness, prosperity, success in labor”, the Akim concluded his congratulatory speech, and then held a ceremony of awarding new honorary citizens of the city and the region. The concert program was continued by performances of the Kazakhstan artists - Yerke Yesmakhan and Amre, as well as Alena Apina. The holiday ended with grandiose fireworks.
