8.7 million people were employed in the economy of the Republic in October 2018¹⁾. The number of employed population in the stated period was 6.6 million (75.8% of the total employed population).

According to the III quarter²⁾ in 2018 from total number of the self-employed population the share of productive workers were 89,7% and unproductive employment - 10,3%.

According to estimates the number of unemployed in October 2018 was 442 thousand people, the unemployment rate – 4.8%. Officially, at the end of October 2018 142.3 thousand people were registered in the employment agencies. The registered unemployed rate were 1.6% of the labour force.

The hidden unemployment rate for the III quarter of 2018 was 0.3% (23.8 thousand people) of the labour force.

The unemployed (according to the ILO standards) comprise all persons who were not in paid employment, were actively seeking and available for employment.

Hidden unemployment (involuntary part-time employment) - shows the number of workers working in the reduced working week or incomplete working day, and also those having administrative vacations without saving salary or with partial earnings.

The hidden unemployment rate – the portion of economically active people who are partially employed and having forced vacations, measured in percentage.
