National Resource Center for Social Work presented in the Ministry of Labor of the Republic of Kazakhstan
11.04.2025 02:12:28 792Today, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a presentation of the National Resource Center for Social Work, created with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in order to develop human resources, as well as improve the system of Kazakhstan social work.
Opening the meeting, Madina Abylkasymova, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that in light of the tasks voiced by the Head of State in the new Message to the people of Kazakhstan, solving social issues and social services is one of the important areas of state policy in Kazakhstan.
“In accordance with international standards to improve the quality of life of Kazakhstan’s people, today our country sets itself the task of introducing new types of social services and improving their quality through the modernization of the social services system. In this regard, work has begun on the introduction of an integrated model for the provision of social services and social assistance, which envisages improving the mechanism for coordinating the activities of social workers in the education, health, social protection and other spheres, which will enable the provision of social services to needy citizens on the principle of "one window", said Madina Abylkasymova.
Also in order to improve the quality of social services provided, an important aspect is to increase the level of knowledge and practical skills of social professionals.
“Today, the social protection system of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan employs more than 10 thousand social workers who provide services to 116.8 thousand citizens who need special social services. In this regard, the center has been tasked with systematizing the standards of vocational training of social workers in the system of higher, secondary and pre-university education, as well as training and retraining of social workers at the central and regional levels, ”the head of the department noted.
In addition, the presentation of the National Social Work Resource Center was attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of state bodies, and leaders of public associations, who also noted the importance and necessity of intensifying work in this direction.
