Kazakhstan Ambassador Met with WBC President Ahead of World Boxing Tournament

April 8, 2025, in Mexico City Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Mexico, Almurat Turganbekov, held a meeting with the President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman, in the framework of a press conference dedicated to the First World Boxing Cup - “Riyadh Season WBC Boxing Grand Prix”.

During the conversation the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the WBC organization in the field of professional boxing. The issues of supporting young talents, holding joint sporting events, as well as promoting Kazakhstani boxers in the world arena were touched upon.

Special attention was paid to the upcoming tournament “Riyadh Season WBC Boxing Grand Prix”, which will be held from April 17 to 20, 2025 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). About 17 Kazakhstani athletes will take part in the competition.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, following the results of which, the parties agreed to continue to strengthen sports ties between Kazakhstan and the WBC.
