Kazakhstan and Pakistan intend to intensify cooperation in the field of information technology and telecommunications

On April 11, 2025, online negotiations were held between the First Vice Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Kanysh Tuleushin and the Federal Secretary of Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Zarrar Hasham Khan.

The parties discussed in detail the prospects for establishing cooperation in the IT sector and identified specific areas.

H.E. Mr. Kanysh Tuleushin spoke about the current situation in the IT market of Kazakhstan, progress in promoting public services in an online format, work carried out in terms of developing artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, fintech, etc.

On his part, the Federal Secretary briefed about the priorities of the Government of Pakistan and the policies being implemented in the IT sector.

H.E. Mr. Zarrar Hasham Khan supported the proposals voiced by the Kazakh side, expressing interest in intensifying cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In turn, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin reported on the events planned for 2025, proposing to accelerate the approval of documents planned for signing at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in April of this year.

As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to hold the first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Information Technology and Telecommunications at the end of April this year, where specific projects for joint implementation will be considered.
