An extended meeting was held in Astana under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabekov, with the participation of heads of main departments, centers, independent divisions of the General Command, and commanding officers of the troops.

The agenda focused on an in-depth analysis of the operational and combat performance of the law enforcement troops in the first quarter of 2025. Reports from various unit leaders were heard, enabling a comprehensive assessment of current operations and planning for the upcoming period.

In Q1 2025, National Guard security patrols seized approximately 400 mobile phones, over 220 cold weapons and sharp objects, nearly 750 grams of narcotics, and 50 liters of alcohol-containing substances. Guard units prevented 35 attempts to smuggle contraband and detained 26 individuals attempting to throw banned items over prison perimeters.

National Guardsmen also participated in 11 emergency responses involving firefighting and life-saving operations. They returned 45 lost personal items and 91 smartphones to their rightful owners. While on duty, service members provided timely aid to individuals suffering heart attacks, asthma attacks, road traffic injuries, and suicide attempts or water-related emergencies.

Major General Baltabekov emphasized the upcoming military parade in the capital and the preparation for the "Cobalt – 2025" international drills, which will be held under the auspices of the Collective Security Treaty Organization on Kazakhstan's territory.

— The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Minister of Internal Affairs have clearly outlined a priority: the internal affairs bodies and the National Guard must be models of legality and discipline. Our troops are entrusted with maintaining law and stability in the country. This trust brings great responsibility. With growing demands, we must ensure a systematic approach to training highly professional and competent personnel, — Major General Baltabekov stated.

Speakers also reported on the implementation of the President's instructions concerning the quantitative and qualitative development of the National Guard. The Commander-in-Chief instructed unit leaders to maintain strict control over achieving these goals.

Notably, the VII International Scientific-Practical Conference recently took place at the National Guard Academy, focusing on military education development in the context of Kazakhstan’s security. It highlighted the importance of officers’ legal culture, military training programs, and international cooperation.

Concluding the meeting, Major General Baltabekov outlined several key tasks for the near future, including ensuring a high-quality spring conscription campaign — a critical component in maintaining the readiness and strength of Kazakhstan’s law enforcement troops.
