Social support of people with disabilities and improvement of their quality of life is one of the main directions of state policy.
On March 31, 2025, the North Kazakhstan region akimat's coordinating council for the affairs of people with mental disabilities held the first meeting of the current year.
Representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations attended the event.
The participants of the meeting discussed the issues of adapting objects of social importance for people with disabilities, creating conditions for inclusive education in educational organizations, reducing the initial rate of disability due to early detection of cancer and prevention of disability.
In addition, in 2024, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan adopted the concept of inclusive policy, the main goal of which is to ensure a sufficient standard of living for every citizen with a disability, a decent life and is to create a society that has the opportunity to realize its potential.
An action plan for the implementation of the concept of inclusive policy for 2025-2030 has been developed, which includes equality and non-discrimination, legal protection of people with disabilities, increasing the level of social protection, inclusive labor market, health care, habilitation and rehabilitation of people with disabilities, ensuring access to barrier-free environment and services, etc. b. include such important directions as.
