In order to record foreign tourists and improve the statistical system, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports offers the National Bureau of Statistics access to the data of mobile operators. At the same time, information about the expenses of tourists based on bank card transactions is needed for the analysis of economic investment.

Currently, the accounting of foreign visitors is based on the statistics of the Border Service of the National Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the data on domestic tourism is formed based on the report of accommodation facilities.
