The delegation of East Kazakhstan region arrives in Karamai city (XUAR, China) to participate in the SCO International Seminar

On 21-25 April, 2025, Karamai city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China hosts an international seminar, organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). The seminar focuses on the training and development of personnel in digital technologies in education, tourism, and IT.
The event is organized by the Xinjiang Subcenter of the China-SCO Big Data Cooperation Center as part of the SCO Tree initiative and includes a five-day program of advanced training, professional exchanges, and tours of Chinese IT hubs and The Digital Development Industrial Park.
The delegation of East Kazakhstan region consists of representatives of Education Administration of East Kazakhstan, universities, deputy directors of colleges of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, Ridder town and Markakol district, as well as representatives of the creative sector and business community.
Participants from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Russia also joined the event, that highlights its international scale and significance within the framework of cooperation between the SCO countries.
During the opening ceremony of the event, officials from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region addressed the participants.
The head of the Kazakh delegation, Director of RSS Group company, Chair of the Tourism Council of East Kazakhstan region, Symbat Ramazanov, emphasized the importance of this event for strengthening cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, sharing knowledge and implementing innovative solutions in key sectors.
- I’d like to emphasize that China is a crucial and reliable partner for our countries. We’re bound not only by years of cooperation, but by geography itself — East Kazakhstan directly borders China. This proximity creates unique conditions for expanding cooperation, especially in education, digitalization, technological exchange and tourism,” Symbat Ramazanov said at the opening of the International Training Seminar organized by the SCO.
