Kazakh Delegation Participates in the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States

Jakarta, May 14–15, 2025 – The Kazakh delegation, headed by Member of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Amangeldy Tolamisov, took part in the 19th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) in Jakarta.

During the session, key issues of inter-parliamentary cooperation, strengthening collaboration among OIC member states, and current challenges facing the Islamic world were discussed. The Kazakh side expressed its commitment to the principles of solidarity, mutual understanding, and constructive dialogue within the PUIC framework.

One of the main outcomes of the 19th PUIC Session was the adoption of the Jakarta Declaration, which emphasized the need to strengthen inter-parliamentary solidarity, coordinate responses to global challenges, and protect the rights of Muslim communities worldwide. In addition, the conference approved the PUIC budget for 2025, resolved administrative and organizational matters, and held elections for the Deputy Secretaries General of the PUIC. The session also coincided with the 25th anniversary of the organization’s founding, giving the event symbolic significance and prompting reflection on the PUIC’s mission in the context of current global realities.

In his speech, Senator Amangeldy Tolamisov highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a tool for strengthening international cooperation and called for joint efforts in addressing sustainable development, security, education, and human rights issues. He also presented the constructive and reform-oriented initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at building a strong, prosperous, and just Kazakhstan.

On the sidelines of the event, the Senator held meetings with parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and other representatives, where matters of mutual interest were discussed.
