Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Slovenia is strengthening in the field of education

Ljubljana, August 6, 2025 - A meeting was held at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Slovenia between the delegations of the International Taraz University named after Sherkhan Murtaza, headed by the deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the founder of the university, Yerbolat Saurykov, and the Secretary General of the Slovenian Alma Mater Europaea University, Dr. Barbara Toplak Perovič.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed key areas of cooperation aimed at improving the quality of education and developing the scientific potential of both universities. Particular attention was paid to academic mobility, scientific research and educational innovation.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, which laid the legal basis for a long-term partnership and became an important step towards integration into the European educational space.

This meeting confirmed the strategic importance of international cooperation in higher education and became a starting point for the implementation of joint projects that will strengthen academic ties between Kazakhstan and Slovenia.

Alma Mater Europaea University (AMEU) is an international private university founded by the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and focused on training future leaders in business, technology, healthcare and culture. It offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs with an emphasis on practical learning and high employment rates. The main campus is located in Maribor, Slovenia, with branch campuses in other cities in Slovenia and Austria.
