We held an August conference of teachers on the theme "The Future of Education: An Honest Citizen, a Professional." The traditional gathering of teachers was specially attended by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gani Beisembayev, and the mayor of the city, Gabit Syzdykbekov.

During the conference, the main priorities of the new academic year were identified. In recent years, the state has been providing special support to the education sector. As a result, teachers' salaries have doubled. In Shymkent, 37 percent of the city budget is directed to education. In the past two years, 39 new schools have been commissioned, and the problem of dilapidated and three-shift schools has been resolved. Another 12 schools have been built within the framework of the national project "Schools of the Future". In addition, the construction of 37 schools is planned for the next two years. At the same time, 20 schools, 3 kindergartens and 2 colleges have undergone major repairs. Two Student Palaces have been opened in the city in accordance with modern requirements.

Social support measures are also expanding. Since 2020, children from low-income families have been provided with 100 percent of school uniforms. Starting this year, children from social categories studying not only in state but also private schools will also be fully provided with hot meals. Free places are provided for children from low-income families in kindergartens. 285 grants have been allocated for the last two years in a row for specialties in demand at higher education institutions.

There are also positive results in preschool education. Currently, the level of child coverage is 89 percent, and by the end of the year this figure will reach 96 percent. Shymkent was the first in the republic to implement a pilot project of voucher financing. As a result, 1,041 “dead souls” were identified and 700 million tenge were saved. Starting in 2027, mandatory licensing of kindergartens will be introduced.

This new academic year, about 28 thousand children will enter school. The necessary textbooks have been delivered to students in full. By 2025, it is planned to increase the share of highly qualified teachers to 75 percent. In recent years, students have also been excelling in various competitions. Our students have won 7 gold, 22 silver, and 48 bronze medals in international and republican educational competitions, and more than 200 students have become prize-winners
