Kazakhstan-India Relations Discussed in New Delhi within the Framework of the President’s State of the Nation Address

New Delhi, 12 September 2025 – The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in India hosted a roundtable discussion dedicated on Kazakhstan–India relations within the framework of the State of the Nation Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the People of Kazakhstan. The event brought together representatives of the Indian expert community, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and mass media journalists.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to India Azamat Yeskarayev highlighted the key priorities of the Address “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation” and informed participants about the political and economic reforms being implemented in the country.
The audience was briefed on the main directions of the Address, including artificial intelligence and digital development, economic diversification, social sector support, development of transport and logistics infrastructure, and parliamentary reform.
The Kazakh diplomat emphasized that the initiatives outlined in the Address open broad opportunities for the implementation of joint projects between Kazakhstan and India.
Roundtable participants noted the relevance of the issues raised in the Address.
Mr. Pankaj Singh, Director for Russia and the CIS at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, stated that the priorities given to digitalization and human capital development create new opportunities for joint educational and investment projects.
Dr. Pravesh Kumar Gupta, Eurasia expert at the Vivekananda International Foundation, underlined the importance of cooperation between Kazakhstan and India in the fields of information technology, transport and logistics, banking, and education as reflected in the Address.
Mr. Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury, Diplomatic Affairs Editor at the Economic Times, stressed the significance of cooperation in the banking sector, transport corridors, critical minerals, and the agriculture sectors. He noted that these areas could become key directions for further deepening bilateral cooperation.
In conclusion, participants emphasized that the priorities of the President’s Address will provide new impetus to the Kazakhstan–India partnership. They also noted that cooperation in the fields of economy, education, and innovation will contribute to further strengthening relations between two countries.
