The large-scale environmental campaign "World Cleanup Day", which began simultaneously in all regions of the country on September 20, 2025, continued this year. The city of Shymkent also actively participated in this noble initiative aimed at protecting nature, ridding the environment of garbage, and raising the environmental culture of the population.

Thousands of residents, volunteers, representatives of youth organizations, employees of state institutions, industrial enterprises, business structures and educational institutions took part in the city-wide clean-up campaign held in Shymkent. Since the morning, cleaning work has been in full swing in all districts of the city.

The first points of the Saturday were chosen as the addresses of 32-34 Mangeldin Street, the Constitution Crossing, and the courtyards of apartment buildings in the Otrar microdistrict. In these areas, local residents, school and kindergarten teams, as well as employees of institutions, joined forces and contributed to the cleanliness.

In Al-Farabi district , 937 people and 14 special equipment were mobilized. 22.2 tons of garbage were removed from the city. In addition, tree branches were cut, grass in lawns was mowed, and garbage areas were washed and put in order.

In Enbekshy district - 11,792 people and 66 pieces of equipment were involved in the cleanup. As a result, 58 tons of household waste were collected, making a significant contribution to the cleanliness of the city. During the cleanup, social facilities, industrial zones, educational institutions and all institutions were covered.

In the Karatau district , 968 people and 18 pieces of equipment worked, removing 32.9 tons of garbage. Residents of this district also participated in the cleanup with particular enthusiasm.

A record number was recorded in Turan district . 13,957 people and 54 special equipment were mobilized here, and 60 tons of garbage were removed. Among the participants were 5,230 residents, more than 1,000 students, 115 social facilities and 212 business structures. This clearly showed that the Turan district was particularly active in the Sabbath.

On the occasion of the "World Cleanup Day", a large-scale campaign "Shymkent - a clean city!" was organized at the initiative of the Shymkent City Youth Resource Center. As part of this event, about 200 young activists took part in cleaning the area in the Mayatas settlement. They helped clear the streets and vacant lots of garbage and take the waste to special places. The activity of young people became an example for others.

As the representatives of the city administration noted, the main goal of such events is not limited to one-day cleanliness. The most important thing is to form an ecological culture among residents, to encourage them to treat nature with compassion. Maintaining cleanliness in the city should become a daily habit of every citizen. The main task of environmental campaigns is to instill in the public consciousness the idea that "not littering is a sign of great culture."

Also, during the Sabbath, tree planting, care for young seedlings, and watering green areas were carried out. These activities not only enhance the beauty of the city, but also aim to leave a clean and green city for future generations.

During the Sembilik, representatives of different sectors worked shoulder to shoulder, becoming a clear manifestation of unity in society. Young and old, civil servants and businessmen, students and teachers united in one goal and contributed to a common cause. Such events strengthen relationships between people and increase mutual understanding.

In general, hundreds of tons of garbage were removed as a result of the World Cleanup Day in Shymkent. Each district did a great job at its own level, and the city became cleaner. The city streets were cleaned, the yards were put in order, and the greenery was taken care of.

According to the organizers, this initiative is not limited to this. In the future, the Sabbaths will continue systematically, and the activity of residents will increase. In particular, the main focus will be on involving young people in nature conservation. This is because the example of young people increases the responsibility of city residents and forms an ecological culture.

This year's "World Cleanup Day" was held at a high level in Shymkent. Thanks to the joint efforts of thousands of people, the city's streets were cleaned and freed from household waste. This is not just a one-day result, but the beginning of a new ecological culture that will focus on cleanliness and order in the future.

Thanks to the unity and solidarity of the people of Shymkent, the beauty of our city has increased. If each resident contributes, we have every chance to turn our hometown into one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities not only in Kazakhstan, but also in the whole world.
