An open discussion platform was held in Kostanay.

A socially significant meeting dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty was held in Kostanay. On November 17, a discussion platform called "Historical Choice" was held at the Smart Center of Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynula, bringing together experts, public figures and active youth of the region. The event was attended by representatives of non-profit organizations, media staff, faculty and university students.

Opening the meeting, moderator Margulan Abdollauli Bakir introduced the guests and emphasized the historical and political significance of the 1990 Declaration, which became a key step towards Kazakhstan's independence. According to him, the document marked the beginning of the formation of a new political thinking and marked the transition to a qualitatively different social reality.

The first speaker was Aybek Batyrkhanovich Shalgimbekov, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan. He elaborated on the legal and political weight of the Declaration, noting that it became the foundation that strengthened national identity and set the direction for further state development.

Ruslan Batyrkhanovich Zhusupov, Master of Humanities, lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, examined the topic of sovereignty through the prism of the values of modern society. He stressed that the understanding of the key historical processes by the younger generation directly affects the vector of the country's development.

Associate Professor of the Department of Penal Enforcement Law at the Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Shyrakbek Kabylbayev, police Lieutenant Colonel Myrzabek Sardarbekuly Toyganov, in his speech, spoke about the reform of the law enforcement system during the years of independence. According to him, it was sovereignty that gave an impetus to modernize the legal sphere and increase the level of public safety.

Yerkenaz Pernebekzy Yesenbet, a third-year student of the Food Production educational program and leader of the youth wing of Zhastar Rukhy, spoke about the role of modern youth in preserving historical memory. She noted that awareness of the value of sovereignty is an important element of civic responsibility and patriotic education.

The discussion continued with a lively exchange of opinions. The participants discussed significant stages in the formation of statehood, analyzed the experience of the sovereign years and raised questions about the role of youth in strengthening national identity.

Summing up, moderator Margulan Abdollauli emphasized that historical dates are not just pages of the past, but reference points that help society realize the path the country has traveled and look more confidently into the future.
