The Supreme Audit Chamber conducted the XXVI meeting of the Working Group on the development of state audit (financial control) standards for the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the CIS member states in a videoconference format, with participation of representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, reviews of methodological approaches to environmental auditing (by SAI Kazakhstan) and audit sampling in compliance audits (SAI Russia) were presented.

The meeting approved the Working Group’s Action Plan for 2026, which provides for the development of two methodological guidelines:

– on monitoring the implementation of recommendations prepared by the Supreme Audit Institutions of the CIS member states based on the results of joint and/or parallel control and/or expert-analytical activities;

– on defining audit priorities.

In addition, the plan includes the discussion of brief reviews of practices and approaches applied by SAIs in the following areas: developing and enhancing the motivation of state auditors; conducting sociological surveys for the purposes of external state audit; digital transformation of state audit processes; quality management within SAIs; as well as practices in applying state audit methodology that have had a positive impact on the socio-economic development of society and the state.
