Jeddah, 11 December 2025 – The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Jeddah and Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ruslan Kospanov, took part in the official events dedicated to the OIC Food Security Day, held at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah.

This year’s event was organized under the theme “Strengthening OIC Food Systems through the Leadership of Rural Women and Youth.” The main programme was held on the sidelines of the 9th Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions, which brought together a broad range of representatives from member states, international organizations and relevant institutions.

As part of the Food Security Day, a panel discussion was held focusing on the role of women and youth in promoting sustainable rural development and food security, along with a presentation of current initiatives of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS).

Participants placed particular emphasis on raising awareness of food security challenges across OIC member states, advancing innovative approaches, and strengthening intergovernmental cooperation to collectively address threats to food security.
