Budapest, January 20, 2026 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary Abzal Saparbekuly met with Horvath Levente, Director of the Eurasian Think Tank at John von Neumann University, and Marianne Ori, Editor-in-Chief of Eurasia Magazine.
At the beginning of the interview, the Ambassador informed the experts about the important events and achievements in Kazakh-Hungarian relations that took place last year, and shared important developments in the future relations between the two countries.
The Kazakh diplomat also introduced his interlocutors to the main points of the article of the Head of State published in the Turkistan newspaper at the beginning of the year, which provides guidance on the foreign and domestic policies of Kazakhstan, socio-economic and cultural-spiritual directions.
Within the framework of the meeting, there was an opportunity to discuss the reform proposals that were raised at the National Congress held in Kyzylorda just yesterday, which are important for the political life of Kazakhstan.
Levente, in turn, noted the great importance of Kazakhstan, a leading country in Central Asia, for the Hungarian expert community, and drew attention to the relevance of the political and economic reforms underway in our country.
At the end of the meeting, the book "15 Years of the Opening to the East Program" published by the Eurasian Analysis Center was presented to the Embassy's library.
It should be noted that the "Opening to the East" program, adopted by the Hungarian government in 2010, is aimed at strengthening political and economic relations with the countries of the Middle and Far East, and Central Asia.
