The senators have ratified the Framework Agreement on the Organization of operations in the private sector between the Government of Kazakhstan and the International Development Fund of the United Nations. The agreement guarantees long-term financing, investment protection and flexible terms of cooperation.

The considered law was developed with the aim of developing cooperation between Kazakhstan and the OPEC Fund for International Development. The agreement will allow financing projects that meet the interests of the country at the expense of the International Fund. In this regard, comprehensive regulation of financing mechanisms is envisaged.

Responding to the senators' questions, Vice Minister of National Economy Asan Darbayev said that the OPEC International Development Fund can finance business projects in Kazakhstan.

"The fund operates in a foreign currency, usually a dollar or euro. As for interaction, private entities work directly because they have an electronic platform. The platform will become available after the OPEC Fund for International Development receives a notification from Kazakhstan on the ratification of the Agreement.I would also like to note that the OPEC fund has set a maximum ceiling for its liquidity of up to $400 million over five years. Then everything will depend on the activity of the business itself," he said.

In accordance with the Law, the ORES Foundation informs the Government of our country about the proposed financing of the project before each financing. The interest rates range from 2.5% to 5% per annum, and the grace period is from 6 to 24 months. Up to 22 years will be the term of the loan.
