On the instruction of the Head of State, a large-scale modernization of the system for combating natural fires and updating the material and technical base of the forestry sector is being carried out.

The Akim (Governor) of the Kostanay region, Kumar Aksakalov, handed over specialized firefighting equipment in the amount of 79 units to the region's forestry institutions. Thirty-six forest fire complexes, 17 tractors, and 26 patrol cars have been transferred to the disposal of the forestry institutions. The received equipment will significantly increase the speed of response to fire outbreaks and strengthen preventive work during the fire-dangerous period.

"Over the past three years, 8 billion tenge has been allocated for equipping forestry institutions. During this period, 26 fire trucks, 86 tractors, 39 small forest fire complexes, and 78 units of motor vehicles were purchased. This year, the delivery of another 25 fire trucks and 9 tractors is expected, which will further strengthen the material and technical base of the industry," noted the Akim of the Kostanay region.

Along with the renewal of equipment, work is underway in the region to strengthen personnel potential. The staff of the forest guard has been increased by one and a half times, and the wages of employees have been increased by 100 percent, which contributes to increasing motivation and the stability of the forest protection system.

"Today we received 17 units of specialized equipment. This is a major contribution to the development of the material and technical base of forestry institutions. This equipment directly strengthens the material and technical base of forestry institutions and, most importantly, increases the level of fire safety for our employees and settlements," – shared her impressions Valentina Andreychuk, Deputy Head of the KGU "Uzunkol Forestry Institution".

The Akim of the Kostanay region noted that the work to update the material and technical base will continue in the future – both in terms of updating equipment and in matters of personnel training, digitalization, and fire prevention.
