Systematic activities aimed at forming an ecological culture continue in Shymkent within the framework of the republican program "Clean Kazakhstan", implemented at the initiative of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. As part of this program, large-scale cleaning and educational events were organized today in all educational institutions of Shymkent, among young people and throughout the city.

Environmental education at school

An informative event was held at school No. 137 in Shymkent as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" program. Elementary school students and students in grades 5–9 shared their thoughts on environmental protection, paper recycling, and the benefits and harms of chemicals in a debate format.

According to the school principal, Elmira Kantayeva, environmental education is carried out systematically at the school. Educational hours, open classes, and thematic meetings are regularly organized, and students creatively express their love for nature through drawing and holding exhibitions.

In addition, the school has dombra, chess, and arts and crafts clubs, involving more than a hundred students in a holistic educational process. One of the good traditions is the initiative to plant trees on the "Graduates' Alley". Every year, graduating students contribute to the landscaping of the school yard. Every Saturday, a "Cleaning Day" is held, during which students clean the school grounds and adjacent canals from garbage.

Debates on the topics of "Clean Kazakhstan" and "Clean Chemistry" were organized for high school students, where the impact of chemicals on human health and the environment was discussed. The importance of recycling waste by making useful products from waste paper was explained. The school parliament is also actively involved in these activities.

Practical eco-lesson at college

An environmental event entitled "Waste sorting is the key to a clean future" was held at Miras College. The eco-lesson was conducted by Erkebulan Ashiraliev, Minister of the "Ecology and Labor" student faction of the college. All 1st-year students of the college participated in the event.

During the event, the formation of a culture of waste sorting and the harm that waste causes to nature and animals were widely explained. Through role-playing games and practical tasks, students practically learned how to properly separate plastic, paper, metal, glass, and organic waste.

According to the college director Nurgul Abuova, in developed countries, waste recycling has become the main mechanism for preserving the environment. Every Wednesday, the school holds a sanitation day, and students actively participate in cleaning activities.

Youth environmental initiatives

As part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" program, another cleaning campaign was organized in Shymkent. About 200 young people gathered in front of the Youth Resource Center and held a flash mob promoting cleanliness and environmental responsibility. Students from higher education institutions and young volunteers participated in the event.

During the flash mob, it was emphasized that cleanliness should not be a one-time event, but a way of life. This initiative is aimed at increasing the responsibility of young people towards society.

Cleaning work in the Aktas settlement

As part of the Cleanup Day, the city's youth carried out a large-scale cleanup in the Aktas settlement of the Turan district. About 200 young volunteers cleaned up the streets and open areas of garbage and were provided with the necessary equipment by the district akimat.

According to Zhanserik Zhuman, head of the Shymkent Youth Resource Center, "Clean Kazakhstan" is not just a cleanliness campaign, but an important project that unites young people, forms environmental awareness and civic responsibility.

The events are aimed at increasing the environmental culture of the younger generation and making cleanliness a daily habit. Systematic work within the framework of the "Clean Kazakhstan" program not only helps maintain the cleanliness of Shymkent, but also contributes to strengthening environmental responsibility in society.
