Madrid, 9th February 2026 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain, Danat Mussayev, held talks with the Secretary of State for Energy of Spain, Joan Groizard.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of energy cooperation, placing particular emphasis on sustainable development of the sector, the energy transition, improving energy efficiency, and the introduction of modern technological solutions.

The Ambassador presented to the Spanish side the priority areas of Kazakhstan’s state policy in the energy sector, including measures aimed at modernizing infrastructure, strengthening the energy balance, and developing renewable energy sources.

For his part, the Secretary of State expressed interest in further expanding cooperation and shared Spain’s national experience in the field of “green” energy, adapting energy systems to modern challenges, and ensuring energy security.

At the conclusion of the meeting, sides confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue and to further explore promising areas of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
