Kazakhstan and Estonia strengthen cooperation in agriculture

Tallinn, February 11-12, 2026 – As part of the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of the Estonian delegation to the Republic of Kazakhstan (November 15-17, 2025), and following the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan, K. Tokayev, to expand export potential and diversify logistics routes, a Kazakhstani delegation arrived in Tallinn. The delegation was led by the Vice Minister of Agriculture, Y.Kenzhekhanuly.
The delegation included the First Deputy Akim of North Kazakhstan region, M.Tasmaganbetov; the Deputy Akim of Akmola region, M. Balpan; the Chairman of the Board of JSC NC "Food Corporation", A. Juvashev; and representatives of leading exporters of grains, oilseeds, vegetable oil, and meat products, as well as transport and logistics companies.
Agricultural exporters met with representatives of the Sillamäe Port (the second largest in Estonia and the fifth largest in the Baltics) and the Port of Tallinn (the state-owned corporation managing four ports, including the Muuga Grain Terminal), as well as leading Estonian trading companies.
Port representatives presented their terminal capabilities, including grain and bulk cargo handling capacities, highlighting their strategic advantages as major logistics hubs on the Baltic route. Special attention was paid to:
- Optimizing transport routes and developing transshipment capacities;
- Ensuring sustainable supplies of grain and oilseeds;
- Improving port infrastructure efficiency for handling Kazakhstani export cargo.
Additionally, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture of Estonia with the Estonian Livestock Breeders Association. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in logistics, agricultural exports, and the import of breeding cattle. The Kazakhstani delegation expressed particular interest in Estonia's experience with the digitalization of agriculture.
The Estonian side expressed its commitment to expanding cooperation with Kazakhstani suppliers and confirmed its readiness for long-term partnerships. Following the visit, the parties agreed to continue developing specific logistics solutions and commercial conditions to increase trade flows and strengthen economic ties between Kazakhstan and Estonia.
